Come on now, tell us the way you asked someone out or how you'd like to do it next time. I'm really shy when it comes to meeting new people, so asking out that person I have a crush on is ridiculously difficult for me! Well in my opinion and limited experiance, I believe you should just strike up a conversation with the other person and become friends. If they seem interested then you could wait a week after becoming friends before asking them out so you don't weird them out. Of course I don't know the person so I'm not sure of what their reaction would be but if you are just lookingh for a way to ask someone right out then I, personally, cannot answer that. Just be brave and follow your heart(very corny, I know). I think if they got to know the real you then it would make them more comfortable about going out with you. i know that when a guy befriends me it makes me more comfortable about being around them. i'm not saying that it's a done deal but it's worth a try! ^_^

It's actually not so much that I have someone in mind, but Ive always been approached first by past relationships and, now that I'm single again, I want to try to play the field myself. Just some ideas in gaining the confidence to try. But nothing's movie-simple, is it?
